
The word Deacon is derived from the Greek word for slave or servant. The mission of the Diaconate of FPC Midland is service to the community. The Bible and The Book of Order clearly state that the role of the Deacon is ministry to those in need.
The Diaconate of FPC Midland is comprised of a group of 36-39 ordained church officers. The Diaconate meets monthly to share fellowship, review its recent efforts, plan for upcoming efforts and seek a deeper life in Christ through its individual and collective efforts. The Deacons strive to effectively follow the FPC mission statement of “Loving and leading all people to deeper life in Jesus Christ” by volunteering time at various ministries around our community and church. These ministries are divided into seven main areas:
