Sometimes it’s necessary to get away from the day-to-day and from what we’re most comfortable with to grow in our faith. FPC offers lots of great opportunities to get away, have a great time together, meet lots of other students and some awesome adults that are here to love on you and give their time for you! It can be a huge boost and, more than that, a wonderful chance to get away and concentrate solely on God’s work in your life! Don’t miss out!
Mission Trips
Real life is about giving back out of what you’ve been blessed with. We have mission projects every month that we encourage everyone to participate in. But sometimes, it’s helpful to get out of your ordinary routine and comfort zone to make room for God to move in very special ways. Every year, FPC Youth Ministries offers two opportunities to head out of town to spend a week of your life serving Christ by serving others. These are weeks that will open your eyes and change your life. Come with an open heart and you’ll walk away changed.
Mexico Mission: Juarez (March 15-21, 2009…Grades 9-12)
Jesus had big words to say to those who have the resources regarding their response to the poor. This is but one way that we respond. We’ll be building houses for families in need. On top of that, you’ll have opportunities all week to share your faith with the families and children on the worksite. Come join us!!!
Son Servants—New Orleans, LA (July 5-12, 2009…Grades 7-8)
Few places have been through more in the past 3 years than New Orleans. During this week, we’ll go and be a part of the rebuilding effort doing whatever they have for us to do. It may be gutting houses, chopping weeds, laying tile, painting or anything you might be able to imagine. Come be a part of what God is doing in New Orleans as you serve the people of the city and hear their stories firsthand! A life-changing week you won’t forget!
Ski Escape—Durango, CO (January 1-4, 2009…All Grades)
Great snow. Ginormous moguls. A fantastic opportunity to get your friends plugged in to FPC! Exciting group devo times in the evenings! Join us for this mid-year ESCAPE from the ordinary. It’s not just a ski trip…it’s an experience! Don’t know how to ski? Come anyway! Lounge Lizards are welcome! Need to learn? Lessons available! Don’t miss out!
Wilderness—The Ozark Mountains, MO (May 31-June 9, 2009…Grades 11-12)
A week that will push you to the limits physically, emotionally, mentally and, above all, spiritually. This 8-day backpacking adventure is for seniors and juniors that are looking to go deeper in their faith through adversity and intense discipleship. We’ll be digging into Scripture and living it out the whole time we’re out on the trail. Are you ready for The Wilderness?!?!
The Great Escape-Gunnison, CO (June 20-26, 2009…Grades 6-8)
Hands down…one of the best weeks offered in the entire country for junior high students! This is a great chance to hang out with other junior highers from all over the country and get to know those you go to church with even better! This week has it all! Great speakers, high-energy worship and afternoons together in the mountains doing who knows what! Alpine slide or rafting anyone?!?!?
Fun in the Son—South Padre Island, TX (July 11-17, 2009…Grades 9-12)
Sure…the beach is amazing! Who can argue with that? But add fellowship with other high school students from across the country, incredible worship and some of the best speakers in the country and you have a week that you won’t soon forget!
