YOUTH PROGRAMS

Trips are great…but real life happens when we’re not out on the slopes, building homes for the poor or off at camp. What happens when the stress and strain of life hits you in the teeth? Do you have a safe place to work it out? Do you have a place where people can come and surround you with love and support? Do you have a place to call “home”? That’s why have all of these great places to plug in and be a part of the family that is FPC Youth Ministries!

Youth Sunday School

The First Presbyterian Youth Sunday School meets in the series of rooms on the second floor of the Family Life Center (above the gym and adjacent to the walking track). All of our Sunday School classes are committed to encouraging youth to grow in faith, experience God in new and exciting ways, and building relationships with peers through fun, fellowship, and the study of God’s Word.

Join us every Sunday morning at 9:45 SHARP in Room 228 for Sunday School! We start out as a big group and then break up into our grade-level classes to dig into Scripture and life and how they intersect!

Junior High Sunday School

7th and 8th Grade (FLC 227) – “Who Am I?”

This class for 7th and 8th graders focuses on developing an individual identity centered around Christ and the truths of His Word.

Senior High Sunday School

12th Grade (FLC 228) – “Out There”

This class for high school seniors prepares students for the world they face after graduation, with an emphasis on service.

11th Grade (FLC 229) – “The Genuine Article”

Our junior class focuses on challenging students to live authentic and purposeful lifestyles in accordance with the teachings of Scripture.

10th Grade (FLC 230) – “Hello, God Calling”

The sophomore Sunday School class helps students to find new and challenging ways to experience God, hear the calling of His voice, and recognizing Him as a part of their everyday life.

9th Grade (FLC 231) – “Welcome to the Real World”

The ninth grade class encourages freshman in the maturing of their faith as they deal with the developing pressures of high school.

JOLT – Jesus, Our Lord and Teacher

This is your chance to come together with guys or girls that are your age in a small group environment where it’s safe to share, ask questions, and simply “do life” as a family throughout the year. JOLT is intended to be more relational than something like Sunday School, but like all relationships, they only work if we’re all invested. You’ll get out of it what you put into it. In the process, you’ll find a great place to grow in your faith while growing in relationships with others. Come join us! Most groups meet on Wednesdays but for more info please call.

Refuge Bible Study (7:00AM on Thursday’s @ The Wyrick’s…High School Only)

An awesome way to start the day! Your teen years can be some of the most stressful years of your life. Come join us as we take REFUGE in the words of Jesus and see that he has more in store for us than running and running and running. There is rest and refuge there. Come get your free breakfast and then we’ll dig into God’s Word to get the day off right! If you have to leave early for school, that’s okay…come get some breakfast and get in on the first part of Bible study!

Lunch Bunch (Thursdays in Lynn Hall…ALL MHS STUDENTS WELCOME!)

Come join with other students for a great pizza lunch and fellowship. Only $4.00 gets you 4 slices of pizza, a drink and a cookie! ALL NON-MHS STUDENTS:::LOOK FOR CARDS AND INVITATIONS TO MONTHLY LUNCHES ON US!!! We’ll usually meet up at Todd’s house, but keep your eye out for invites!!

First Sunday Fellowship

The first Sunday of every month, we’ll get together to play! It could be anything…bowling, football, games, movies…you name it! This is a great opportunity for us to simply hang out and have a great time together! Bring a friend and get them in on the fun!

Mission Projects

Missions is not just about a trip. While mission trips are great for getting us outside our normal surroundings, it’s extremely important for us to remember that there are lots of opportunities to be a part of what God is doing in missions right here in West Texas! Come join us every month as we partner with different mission efforts that are closer to home and just as critical!

Confirmation

Confirmation is a 10 week class where 9th grade students learn about their faith and what it means to be a part of First Presbyterian Church.
